Belts squeaking!

well, i had minor squeaks in my visible belts, (IE: besides the VC) bought some belt squeaking remover spray and it just made it worse!! wut kind do u guys use? Or do i need them to be tighten?

In my 92 gs, after i got all my belts replaced they would squeak every time i would start the car for about 5 min then stop. I tightend them and it worked no more squeaking.

I had mine replaced, and they started squealing within a month. Took it back in, and they tightened them again. The tensioner on outer belt is a pain to tighten, because the adjustment bolt will want to walk out of the bracket as you tighten it. I blew the turbo soon after, so I don't know if it would have started squealing again or not.

Another thing that it might be is oil dripping on the belts. If you have a leak in your valve cover gasket, the oil can get on the upper timing belt cover and it will drip right onto one of the belts (the edge of the cover is directly above one of the belts, so it guides the oil right onto the belt). You should be able to remove the upper cover and see if there's oil on it or maybe just feel along the lower edge of it for oil without removing it. I noticed that this may have been happening with mine as I tore it apart to fix/upgrade the turbo. I got a new valve cover gasket kit, so hopefully this will fix that problem.

Tightening them and belt dressing should do the trick. If you continue having that problem, its been said to order a set of OEM belts because they are made differently then most aftermarket ones. Different rubber patten i assume on the inside.

I'll say this before Defiant does, a crank pulley that is falling apart will make things squeel. Check it out ASAP.
