Belt Squeal, Bigger Battery the answer?

When its real cold, my V-belt will squeal like an animal is dying, i have read similar problems on here with other peoples cars, letting it get warm is the usually diagnosis, however even when my car is totally warm now, then i shift gears and let off the clutch it will squeal and then stop, when i come to a stop sign i hear a faint squealling, and when i let off the clutch in first the squealing returns for about 3 seconds. It is always worse when anything is on, defrost is on squealing is worse, headlights on, even worse, the belt is fully tensioned as well, but the car has some crappy old battery in it, and i have a sound system and when the sub hits the squealing will come back, on a warm day there is no squealing, i have heard talk of a harmonic balancer causing the noise, but if i had a capacitor for my subwoofer, and a better battery, maybe a bigger alternator, all thoughts appreciated?
The noise is bearable just really annoying, espeically when pulling out of a parking lot, i can hear the squealing start as i turn the wheel and the power steering pump starts working...

1990 Plymouth laser Rs turbo Free mods, Hard intake, boost controller, noise was present b4 any mods.

re-tension your alternator belt

If that belt is pretty old, replace it and re-tension it as Mavisky said. Seems that if you have it all the way tensioned then the belt has stretched quite a bit and you need a new one.

I agree, new belt. Once they start stretching and wearing, they lose their grip, and will squeal more and more. You may want to do all of them at the same time, because if you replace one and it grips better, the others may start squealing because of the new belts better tension (causing the pullies to spin better/faster then before).

yea it was a brand new belt , you can only tension it so much because the tensioner threads a bolt further and further and will begin to interfere with another belt at a certain point, so maybe do the other belts as well? because this belt is tensioned correctly?

Ok, the belt should have a good 1inch of play in it, thats when it's at running temp, so let the car warm up, then check it....this should fix the problem.
