My alternator belt keeps coming loose while driving my car. The tensioner bolt that loosens and tightens the belt keeps sliding out of its position. If you have done your alternator, you know what I'm talking about. Does this mean that my belt is too tight? This definately sucks.

loosen the bottom alternator bolt before making the tension adjustment, and THEN adjust the tension as normal, then tighten the lower alternator bolt back up......:dsm:
