I was looking at picking up some 4th gen wheels myself. They look good on there! I like the black on the bumper unsure about the hood. What did you use?

Yeah, I LOVE these wheels! I've always been a big fan of 5 spoke rims. They will be painted by then end of the month. (Black with a Red Lip) This hood is just temporary till I get my Ram Air Hood. (Tax return baby!) I used Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Black Gloss. LOL. All I have left now are the tails. :talon:

i would lose the headlight blackouts... too much vision lost unless you live in a bigger city where erythign is lit and there's no suburbs with deer and such. I had them on my stang and couldn't see sh!t at night on back roads..

toherwise i think it looks good, nice car!

I would try to find the plastic cowl that goes in the mouth of the bumper, or fill it with a FMIC

I would also either tint the side markers, or get clear ones. The orange doesn't look good now with that color scheme. Also tuck the hose you have running in the bumper opening away to look cleaner.

I like everything. It all looks great. My $.02, and this is my opinion, but I think the best thing you can do for that engine bay is take a day and clean that sucker. If I remember tonight, I'll post back on here with some pictures of a before and after on my engine bay. Before being how the previous owner let the engine bay become a complete disaster.

I like everything, exterior wise, though. Seems like a completely different car if you look at the picture on the curb.

Oh, battery relocation???

:dsm:

Looks good. I think the headlights are a little too much though. I used to think that I was the only one that had painted the middle part of the bumper black but in the last year or so, Ive seen quite a few people do that. I remember when I did mine, the Evo X came out a few days after I got done and I was kinda pissed cause it looked really similar to the front end of the Evo X. Keep us updated on what you do to it. I think a 2gb looks amazing with a stock body.

Thanks for all the posts! I do plan on getting a 97 Talon Bumper to fix the issue. I literally just got the car maybe 3 weeks ago. Everything is the same except for the painting I did. Sidemarkers will be done, I'm just waiting on a new can of Nite Shades, then, I will finish all markers and the Tails.

The cam cover was off already when I got it! Ive been looking on Ebay, but I cant find the complete cover. Or does it matter? Do I just need the top?

Come Tax return, I'm getting these:

Ram Air Hood-

Around $1500!

Should be fun!

P.S. Please keep in mind, that I am only half way done with what I want to do. I just couldnt wait to get pics up! LOL

And, YES! The battery is in the TRUNK!

If you are talking about getting the talon bumper to fix the headlight issue, it wont do anything. You have to get 97-99 style headlights which are shorter, and do not sit underneath your bumper cover.
Yes definitely try to find the complete timing belt cover kit, you dont want anything falling in there.
As for the ram air hood, if you like it, go for it. Personally I'm not a fan of a ram air hood on our cars, seeing as you can have better gains by running ducting up to your intake filter and sealing it off. That is if that was the reason you were looking at it.
One more point of advice, stay away from that kit. You could piece together a much better kit that will last and probably be cheaper. I'd hate to see you spend money on that kit to have the exhaust manifold crack or something.

Not trying to be a dick, just trying to look out for you. Nice job so far.:thumb:

As promised:

Before it was in my hands, eww...

After, and I'm still not 100% satisfied:

See how much better with a little elbow grease. :D

If you get the 97-98 Talon front bumber you will not need to get the 97-98 headlights, the 97-98 talon bumber still as the curve in the bumber for the 95-96 headlights, the 97-99 headlights actually cause a gap with the Talon bumber.

^^ very nice clean up.

As for the op, I have to agree, I'm not much for the smoked headlights, rest looks good though. I would also recommend building up your own kit for the turbo instead of buying that one. Unless you haven't filled out all your car's info, I'd focus on the supporting mods for a bigger turbo, and something like a 16g while you wait and decide if you want a bigger one. If it's a daily driver, you probably won't want a really big turbo, as all your usable power moves up into the 4000+ rpm range. Get an exhaust and a better IC, maybe a new MHI turbo that will bolt in without a full kit, and go from there.
Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for all the kind remarks. I don't want to take away this thread from the OP but as you can see, if you clean up your engine bay it will be so, so rewarding when your done. What are your other plans for your car?

:dsm:

Be careful with that ebay airfilter. I've seen quite a few of those fail and cause the outer part to fly into the turbo's impeller.

I'd also steer clear from the ebay turbo kit. That FMIC is most likely pretty good but the rest of the kit is absolutely garbage, manifold & turbo included.
