its my first Rebuilt , i follow the shop manual , i have take all the clearance with plastigauge and everything is fine until now .

if you have some tips let me know , something is not in the shop manual .

I wait for my timing belt and other stuff to complete the rebuilt .

just be carefull with the head gasket my buddy didnt line his up right and had to take it all back apart. its easy and he was an idiot but just be carefull

I just sand it and paint it .

I did bored cleaned and balenced. Buy new piston, bearing, arp head stud, sand and paint the block

wow in the before picture your cylinder is so rusted it looks like a kid dropped red paint in there! ouch! did someone not have a spark plug in there for a long time?

When you put the head on try not to use the studs to press it on. Make real sure the dowel liner upper things are centered in the head. And make sure you push it down square, and its all the way flat on the deck. Just so you dont mess up the dowels or some thing and make it not seal on the head gasket good.

Just a thought.

Looks kick ass man, great job cleaning it all up and going the extra steps with painting it and buying a new water pipe.

I also love the wood floor, most people rebuilt engines in their garage though. haha I shouldn’t be talking though I rebuilt my head on the dining room table last month cause my garage isn’t heated. Took some shit for that too ha-ha. good luck with the rest of the build man! :thumb:

its not a new water pipe its the old one i have sand and paint with duplicolor engine enamel color : aluminium DE1615

Ya how did it get so coroded? The last time i saw an engine that rusted was one that had been sitting in the junk yard for quite some time. But good job on the rebuild. Looks amazing. :thumb:

well i was asking because i just removed my motor and the exhaust mani is off.. do you think if i plugged up the cylinders that would stop the corrosion? what if i bolted the mani back on with the same gasket?
