I know it has been a while since the last post so I suppose it is time for an update. For the most part it has been a lot of small "here and there" type work. The car is about 98% complete, well assembled anyway all the body work and paint still needs to be done. All the intercooler tubing welding was done by me except for the one flange for the BOV. My welding isn’t the best but I think that is will do for now. The plan was to at least get it up and running for the time being and once I can afford it I will re-do the IC tubing. I plan on ordering a new kit and do it all over with fresh tubing. And I may change the routing when I do, but we will see.
The two biggest changes I made to my set up were the intercooler. I found a decent e-### FMIC the was a bit smaller than the greddy one I had but still fills the hole in the front bumper almost completely and looks a lot better that what was there before. The other change I mad was I went from the 95-96 CAS to the newer 97-99 CAS. What I was going to do was eventually move to an EVO8 CAM reluctor wheel and see if that makes a difference in the power with the EVO8 ECU running the correct ROM.
Future work is trying to get it running. For the most part it should be GTG... I had it all together yesterday and tried to get it cranked up unfortunately she wouldn’t run. so after fighting with it for about an hour of not getting any fuel and changing the pump a couple of times, I realized that when I put the fuel pump in I wired it backwards in the tank...
oops live and learn. Got it all put back together and now I have no spark... and that is where I called it a night... I may get a chance to mess with it tonight I don’t know for sure.
I do have a question though… The way things worked out with the intercooler tubing it happen that my BOV ended up down in the front bumper. Now keep in mind that I did not intentionally plan this but I am unsure if I want to keep it here. Ideally I will cut what is their off and redoing it so that the BOV will sit closer to the tubing and rotated about 90 degrees. That is assuming I decide to keep it in this location. I have seen this done on some higher end cars (Supras mostly) and I do think it looks cool but I am not sure if I want to keep it there for various reasons. I could see it being the source cause of problems from junk and road grime getting in it and having it that far from the IM will more than likely have its own set of issues... but what do you think.

Some of my welds after they have been cleaned up... I still need to pull the tubing out and polish it up a bit. You can also see the bung I welded on for the IAT sensor.

This is the accidental location of the BOV. Origonaly I was going to weld a new flange to the tube inbetween the TB and the fuse box or up next to the air filter after I replace the Mitsu MAF and go SD... So for now it can stay there untill I get everything running correctly and am ready to register the car for the street... Then I will figure out what I want to do with the BOV.
