My battery has been draining lately. I use jumper cables to charge it and it will work the next day, but goes back out. The alternator is fine. So I can rule that out, but I noticed when I took the battery out and put it back it, as soon as I hooked the red wire up to the battery, the alarm went out louder than usual and I couldn't stop it. I never use the alarm for my car though. Just the key. When the alarm went off, I could feel it right under the fender and that's where it might be. Could that possibly be draining my battery? It's aftermarket and the person had a gps locator in it too. I don't know what it could be.

Disconnect that alarm BS stuff, then see if the battery is still draining down...

Sadly, when users attach junk to the electrical system, esp to the direct hot lead to find a cheap source of power, it causes more problems that what its worth...

Oh, better DO find the voltage leak, for this continual drain and charge WILL eventually take out the alternator since it's not designed to be charging the battery all the time - it will take out the regulator.

I can't find the actual alarm. I can see the gps tracking thing under my steering wheel but I know the actual horn is under my fender. I'm gonna try and see what under there today. Whoever installed it hid it pretty well.

Your going to need to locate the power and ground for the alarm. Where is the alarm itself located? Find it and trace the wires.

That's the problem. I can't find the alarm. I might can find out where the horn is but I've looked everywhere and the only thing I found was the hps locator, which was under my steering wheel. I don't know where it could possibly be.

Pull your lower crash pad down. Alarm boxes are usually in that area somewhere. Also how are you able to tell that what you see under the steering wheel is a gps unit and not the alarm box?

May want to take it to a mechanic if you can't find the alarm.
You can also use a test light an start pulling fuses and try to also trace from there.

Yeah. I unhooked the gps system wire from the battery and when I hooked the battery back up, the alarm still went off. So that's not it.

Couldn't I just pull the fuse where it says alarm? It would that not work?

That battery is only about a year old, but if this has been an ongoing problem, you might want to get that battery checked. Those Advance Auto Parts batteries cone with a three year warranty, and they will test it for free. A bad battery won't help your cause here.

This just started about a week ago. I've had the car for almost a month and it's meet happens until now. And Nevermind, I think the battery it hooked directly to the battery but I dont know which wire it is. Hence th fact that when I hook th battery up, it goes off.

We found the alarm and cut it. When we hooked it up, it didn't go off either. So I guess that's good, but since it's been drained, we need to get a new battery. We're also going to remove the gps system too.

Keep in mind the warranty. Raise enough hell, and they will replace it even if you didn't buy it.

How do you know that the alternator is ok?
any update on if the battery is still draining?

Where is the alternator fuse? My battery is being drained fast, within about 25 minutes of driving! When you unplug the positive on the battery the car dies, is that a bad alternator 100% or no?

Yes that is a bad alternator

Also to the op if you charge the battery it should be good , use a battery tester , try pulling the positive off while the car is running ,...For the car alarm all you had to do was find the main wire for the ignition , thats where they spice in the car alarms and gsp for power/switch and ground ...Sometimes just cutting them out will not work , Some they cut the wire and it will only get power from the car starter/alarm when it is dis armed
