If I leave my car overnight the battery will die. After looking at it briefly I noticed that power to my ecu and s-afc doesnt shut off when I pull the key out.. Can anyone direct me to what might cause this? Any suggestions would help as I dont have a bunch of time to mess around with this issue, thanks.:beatentodeath:

Car is a 1g Talon just to let you know

Does it have a turbo timer? If so disconnect it and see if the problem still exists.
Just a guess but it might work.

I do have a turbo timer so maybe Ill inspect that..
as far as the s-afc its been in the car for over a year and everything has been working fine this just started out of the blue with no changes to the cars electrical system..

ok removed the turbo timer harness.. the problem remains

further checks
tried another s-afc.. same thing happens
if I disconnect the fuse block next to the battery (contains 4 heavy fuses inline) it cuts power to the s-afc... when I reattach the fuse block the s-afc will remain off until I turn the key to the on position (taking the key out) then I will have to manually pull the fuse block off the battery to shut the s-afc down.. so I believe I have narrowed the problem down a bit.
but the question still remains what the hell is the problem

Check all of your grounds and then your power! start at simple things.. Make sure your wires arent chafed or damaged.

figured I'd update this incase anyone has a similar situation... The problem was the MPI relay
