ive read multiple threads that have similar things with mine. but i just dont know what to check.

ive got a 97 talon awd. it all started when i relocated my battery to the truck. so i removed it from the trunk and put it back under the hood thinking that would solve my problem. but it didnt. so i took our battery tester from work the battery still has perfect cca and a charge of 12.06(this is after i charged it back up) i put the battery in the car to test the alternator and it said the alt. failed. so i replaced the alternator still does the same thing.

in the car my turbo timer is reading 11.46 and slowly goes down the more i drive it.

i dont know what i should be looking for. my connections are all good and none corroded im just confused as to where to start after everything ive done ? voltage regulator? but i dont know where thats located. im gonna go through on tuesday and check all my grounds again make sure there making good connections just to be sure on those but any help would be greatly appreciated

If I'm not mistaken, the voltage regulator is built into the alternator. I had the same issue 4 dsm's ago.

First thing I would do is turn the ACC on in the car and use the TT to monitor it. If it drops SLOWLY, then it's not your battery. If it does drop rather quickly, recheck the battery. If you replaced the battery while the alternator was bad, there's a chance you could have harmed the battery. Then after that, I would check ALL grounds.

I would try is a better battery. One with 660 cca or higher.

If you have any other questions, PM me. I just got done with swapping ECU harnesses from a 99GSX to a 97 GST. I know the location of about every friggin' ground on the car about now.
