Basic Question- how do I learn how to drive a stick?

Hey guys, I was wondering if any of you could tell me how to drive a stick shift? I asked my dad but he refuses to teach me, cus hes afraid I'll burn his Corvette's clutch out. His solution is for me to just drive autos, but I really don't want to do that my whole life.

So can anyone help me?

My 16 year old Daughter just got her license a couple of months ago. We bought her a car and she had to have a stick. She ended up with an Eclipse GS, manual (what a coincidence).

I'll bet a couple weeks at Delightful Defiant's Double-Clutch Downshift and Danse Academy would do wonders for her.

I know it'd do wonders for me......
