balancer?!?!? wtf is that??

ok be gentle... i'm relatively new to cars and fixing them so this uh "project" car is my first. but when guys say check the alignment of the pulleys and balancer what are you guys talking about?

Harmonic Balancer is the crank pulley (the big pulley at the very bottom)

How did you go from needing a harmonic balancer to needing an engine?

well lets see the belt broke and i rode it till it got to base. the car overheated and warped the head... that or the car was burning oil and i didnt really notice so i was riding around testing the new belt and then developed a knock... either way i ####ed myself entirely so i just ordered another engine and began from scratch. sigh the things i get myself into
