Balance shaft eliminator question.

You need to make sure that the hole in the bearing does not line up with the oiling hole in the block. Other than that, it doesn't really matter. The point of the bearings is to block off that oiling hole, because you no longer have a balance shaft to lubricate and you'll have low oil pressure if its not blocked. :thumb:

Question, now I just bought the BSE kit with out the bearings. Now my question is has anybody done one of these kits with out the bearings. I was just wondering cause I know on non over head cam motors when you pull out the cam bearings there pretty much impossible to get back in. I'm just wondering if I should save myself a headache and buy the bearings or should I be o.k?

You can reuse the front bearings. Like BrokenTsi said, just make sure that the oiling holes in the bearings don't line up with the ones in the block. You can use the big end of the rear shaft to pop out the front shaft bearings and reinstall them, or IIRC a 32mm socket and a long extension also works.

^^^ I'm just wondering how hard its going to be to get the bearing back in. Cause when you take cam bearings out and try to put them in its a huge PITA to get them back in. I understand the whole install I'm just wondering about this part of the install.

the rear bearing is the hardest part to pop out or install.1ST time ,when i did the BSE it took me near an hour to pop out the old bearing and put in a new ones. and the last time i did that (3rd time) it took me close to 10 mins to pop out and install ;). Just use the Balance shaft to pop out and reinstall the bearings ;)

Like said before I didnt not buy my BSE kit with the bearings. So really thats all I have to do is take out the front balance shaft front bearing and turn it to block the oil passage correct? Does anybody have directions on how to install without the bearings? The vfaq directions are kind of cloudy.

what do you mean without the bearings??? to install balance shaft elim kit without the bearings, its impossible,Just use your old ones.be careful taking them out and oputing them in,because you might damage the bearings ,"and if you put damaged bearings, they could fell off into the oil pan,and youwill say "good bye to your motor ;)
