balance shaft belt removal

so i have heard that instead of doing the whole balance shaft removal that i can just remove the belt. can i do this and still leave the shafts in place? any help would be greatly appreciated.

No you can't. you can leave the front one in, but you have to remove the rear one, and replace it with the stubby shft.

My advice then and now is don't do it.

My head hurts after that read up and hearing both sides. Im still confused

Car is a 95 TSI awd with 140k new rods/mains and Im sure that the BS bearings are worn out. I dont want them locking up and Im about to do a timing belt swap. I dont have the time to pull the motor/money isnt a BIG issue at the monent.

Any GOOD advice? There has to be another option

im not sure about a 2g but you dont have to pull the motor out on a 1g to do the balance shaft removal. At least not to remove just the rear shaft.

I just got my new timing belt the HKS and am putting it in with my hks cam gears and hks cam shafts 272 and switching out the water pum. at the point of doing this I'm installing the PCi balancing shaft removal kit it was like 45.00 shipped which is good for a street race car..
