i haven't worked on a 1g much but my bs belt broke so i am doing a timing belt bs belt tensioner and wp. on my 2g there is room to put the bs belt on behind the crankshaft. on my 1g there isn't do i need a gear puller and to pull the crank pully or do i just need and impact and pull that bolt off and it will just come off or what?

An impact and something to hold the crank still and that bolt will come off and can remove the outer crank sprocked and then can slide the balance shaft belt on and put everything back and in time and it's done. Good luck that crank bolt can be very very stuck on.
