I noticed today while accelerating from a stop that under slightly harder than normal acceleration there is a strange grinding noise coming from the Tranny/Passenger side of the car. It only happens shortly until i let off the accelerator. Could this be a bad wheel bearing?

try jacking your car up and grabbing the wheel and shaking it back and forth (almost as if your the hulk and your trying to rip it off) make sure your steering wheel is locked if it moves its bad... i doesnt sound like it is cause mine has been bad twice and mine just goes thump thump thump thump etc while im cruisin but maybe yours is in the beginner stage

no it doesnt grind when turning, only under acceleration but thats a good check on the wheel bearing. I'll try that anyway and see what i come up with.

Agreed, so it'll make a humming sound that'll increase with speed. Check what every one else has suggested to determine if they are indeed, bad.

none of those things seem to be happening with my car. Is there a possibility that bad motor mounts could be the cause of this? maybe its the engine rocking against something under hard accel causing a grinding noise?
