It messes with the flow of air and will mean that your ECU receives wrong info about how much air is coming into the engine. The result, it'll run like poo unless you have something to tune around it with, like an AFC or DSMlink or something. Your profile says you have neither, so don't hack it. I have the ability to tune, but would replace it with a GM MAF before hacking the stock one.

Some guys on here will tell you that it will help and give you extra hp, but please don't do it. It's not worh hackin it up on a chance that you might get any difference out of it. They are there for a reason.
