Ok I have read every thread on this topic so hopefully one of you guys can help me out a little better. The car starts sputtering at anything more than 3/4 throttle 17psi and up. I had to turn my MBC down to about 15psi to stop the sputtering. I just fixed a couple of exhaust leaks, small boost leaks, checked spark plugs (gapped at 0.28), fuel pressure is at 43.5. I also brought it to my local shop. They told me that thw spark plug wires are ok. I'm not to sure about that though. It's weird because it doesn't happen consistantly. Last night I ran 20psi just fine. Today I can barely run 15psi. Anyone have any ideas?

edit: I also don't get any knock from my knock-sum gauge

Even though they say the wires aren't, ok i wouldn't trust them. My best bet right now is they are gone. Replace them and let me know if that solved your problem.

That was my next step. I am ordering them today. I don't think there is a local shop that would have them in stock. I have the ACCELL wires on there now. What would you recomend?

Well autozone and discount auto always have those duralast brands which aren't bad but me personally, i have had the 8.5mm msd wires and liked them. They aren't too big like the 10mm ones yet still do the job and heck it's msd..

If they are cheap enough, I may just go pick up a store brand to see if they fix the problem. If they do I will return them and buy the MSD ones.

Yeah it seems they are the wires, get them changed today and lets solve it for once. PS - leave the bpr7's now that you already have them, since i see you have quite a few mods and might want to run high boost.

You were right. I just put in a new set of Bosch 7mm wires, turned up the boost and bingo! Car runs like a champ. No sputtering at all. I'm so glad that's over with.

Told you man i had the same problem. Glad to help out and hear it turned out good. Time for those msd's !

I had the same problem when i got to high boost the car would sputter ...and the problem was foul spark plug wires ...i would change them and then see what happens ...good luck homie...:thumb::thumb::D:talon::talon:

Never had a problem with fouling 7's. I change them once every 2 or 3 oil changes, or after I run leaded gas.

I basically have to change my oil once a month. I'm not the only one who had problem's with the fouling sooner that the 6's ao I decided to just run the 6's for now. I may, however, switch back to the 7's now that the car is running great and I have new wires. How much boost are you running?
