So guys the car I bought the guy put a SS in it and it is hard to move left and right seems tight. Seems hard to put in some gears also. 3rd clunks also and it sounds like its under the shifter not a grind from the tranny.

Can a bad shift linkage cause something like this ?

Yes, Shift linkage adjustment and shifter condition can definitely cause issues. I was having transmission grinding issues and after adjusting the Shifter and cables, it was a drastic improvement.

Also, I would bleed out the clutch also if you have not already…I found my clutch master cylinder leaking very slightly on the inside firewall, replacing it and bleeding the system helped considerably as well.
