Bad News For New Engine!!!

i am so angry right now i just put my new motor in and new tranny yesterday car was riding good during break in,an oil line to the oil filter exploded ,so i inched her back home , this morning i fixed the oil line and went to start the car , the entire engine and tranny just shake pretty hard, and car has slight vibration, attempt to rev resulted in more vibrating and shaking WTF is going on please tell me the motor isnt blown

Did you over heat the engine while nursing it home? I can't see how the engine oil prob' could affect your tranny, but it could just be symptomatic of the engine vibration and that could be from any one of a dozen things that might have gone bad while running with little to no oil for lube or cooling.

How fast were you going when the oil line let go? and did you lose all the oil afterwards? The bearings might be ruined or you might have a spun bearing. Depending how quickly you shut down and how long you drove it after the line broke is going to determine what kind of damage you have.

have you tried starting it again? does the problem still exist or any load knocking or rattles? with out a tear down to inspect vital components it's going to be a crap shoot as to the exact problem.

Drain the oil and see how much comes out and replace it...

Do a compression check...

So wait... an OIL line exploded & you still drove it home knowing that? WTF

when it blew i drove straight home about 1 mile maybe less, i attempted to start it today after replacing the line, everything is vibrating alot,so drain the oil , replace and then go from there? or do you definately think its a problem in the motor?

I've seen the balance shaft belt fail due to loss of oil drain plug. Might explain the vibration.

Well, if you drove it with the oil line broken and no oil pressure, then the engine is most likely fried. Did it run out of oil? Did you lose oil pressure? If you drove it for any amount of time with either of those being true then yes, the motor is blown.

Yes..

Did you even check to make sure you had enough oil before trying to start it

problem solved, i pulled the spark p,ug wires and re connected them started the car and all vibrations went away
