Bad Mass Air Sensor?

Ok, I just bought this 93, N/A laser from a friend,

He always said i had to adjust the idle ### of the cams or somthing, but the car has always had a rough idle, it sounds like a harley davidson idling kinda..

Anyway.. i disconnected the MAF for a second, and the idle rose back up to about 2 grand, so im thinking that the reason why he had to keep adjusting the idle is because the MAF was bad and causing it to idle wrong,

Anyone Have any idea?

That's really not a TRUE way to tell if you MAF is working or not. They only way is to hook it up to a computer or just a go to a junk yard and get another maf and see. The maf will put your check engine light on, but it's all kinds of stuff that will cause the idle to be off.
