I recently upgraded to a FMIC and blow through setup and ever since installing the MAFT i get a leaning/sputtering effect if i slap down the throttle. When i do this the o2s read in the 0.0XXs and stays that way until you let off. The car will not accelerate. But when i ease on to the throttle everything is fine. Any ideas please.

Thanks for your input.
Corey

Sounds like you are having problems with your mass air or modulator set up. The mass air must not be reading the air corectly when you stand on it. Double check your wiring solider the wires if there is no conectors for a positve clean contact and use shrink wrap to protect them. Your Mass air and o2 work in harmany with each other thats why you see the wacked readings in the o2.
Are the mass and translator bought new or used??? Hope I got you in the right direction.

the translator is new and the maf is used (i don't know for how long). The maf is in the right directions and all the wiring is correct. I forgot to add in my last post i don't have the honeycomes in. I just now put them back in and will see if that helped.

The hesitation/sputtering at WOT kinda sounds like a plugs/wires problem. Today I put in some NGK plugs and wires and it fixed my hesitation/sputtering problem like nobody's business! :D It could also be a boost leak - maybe you didn't tighten a clamp down enough when you installed the front mount?

The honeycomes will take care of most if not all not all of the probelms away. The honeycomes are in there to straighten out the air flow going thew the mass air to get a accurate reading. At WOT when you stand on it with out the honeycomes there is a lot of turbulance and the sensors cant read the air corectly to adjust for load mixture. I would never take them out. Guys have more probelems than gains doing so.
If you are still haveing probelms go right to a new mass air.

Have you had any luck with fixing this problem??? I having the exact same problem with my maft setup. Please let us know how you fixed it.

Thanks.

Putting back the honeycombes didn't help at all. I tried a different MAF and the result was the same. I am currently playing with all the Translator settings but that dosen't seem to be helping either. I think i will try and put my old eprom back in to see if that helps.

What honeycombs are you talking about? I use the translator and with some info could help you. Mark
Please describe the honeycombs.

They should have not made that big a difference. call me and i think we can set it up correctly. Mark
