About two weeks ago I noticed my temp rising. Shut off the car and got it towed home. I gave her a look over and a compression test and all looked well. I pulled the thermostat and it was bad. I replaced it and everything was fine and temp was stable. It ran fine for about two weeks and then today coming back from lunch with my Mom, it started to heat up again. I was only about a half mile from home so I drove it back. I pulled it in my garage and started to take a look. My coolant overflow was boiling over and spitting out the breather line. I look behind the exhaust mani and I see a wet spot on the bottom of the head. At this point I'm pissed. I always look to the positive and thought well I'll get an early start on my build. I'll give a short list of my build and then I have a few questions.

-FP 68hta
-FP race manifold
-Walbro 255
-1050cc injectors
-Fuel lab fpr and filter w/ 6an lines to and from the tank
-Link V3
-PR FMIC
-PR radiator w/ dual 10" electric fans
-stock 7 bot bottom end w/ BSE
-Tranny rebuild with Evo3 gears, front LSD, 4 spider center
-Evo3 rear diff
-Southbend SS clutch kit with kevlar tz disc
There is more I'm forgetting but this gives an idea.

My question is who would have the best deal on the parts below?
-MLS headgasket
-ARP head studs
-Springs and retainers for use with HKS 272s
-HKS 272s
-Fluidamper pulley
-All oem timing components w/ Gates blue belt

That's about it for now, I'm sure there will be more once I get into things. Thanks everyone.

I'm in the process and searching classifieds. I was hoping to quicken the process with this thread. Thanks

There is no coolant in the oil. It seems like there is oil in my overflow jug. Although the radiator cap is the only thing I didn't replace. With my luck it's never that easy of a fix.

Thanks. I'll check them out.

Also for the timing stuff, check out PartsDinosaur.com for their PCI brand stuff. I've read many stories on here of people using them and they've never had a problem with them. Do your own research before you decide though. Also I second extremepsi, I love that site. Never had a problem after buying several hundred dollars worth of stuff from them.

I dont know where I saw them but if you pay over $119.99 for your arp headstuds your paying too much. Thats one of the better prices that Ive seen for the 4g motor..

Also you should be able to get your Gates Blue belt for under $70 anything more isn't worth paying for the same Item

I may have this problem too because I have the same issue after replacing the entire cooling system already.... how much is too much to pay for a head gasket job to a street mechanic?

-sorry to knock your thread bro, but is "somewhat" related LOL :aha:
