Just thought id let people know something i never experianced before. Well my car started to miss really bad so i thought the coil or something was going on cause new plugs and wires. Well then my car wouldnt start or nething and i was like dang and had the battery tested. Well i got the car started and took it for a spin. when the car was cold it would run perfectly fine and what not. After it warmed up it would start doing its nonsense. Well i actually got stranded because it died and would start. Good thing my dad has a towing company. i wouldnt have wanted to pay the tow bill ha. But i thought to myself hmm my alternator must not being working right. so i took it off had it tested and was only putting out 12 volts. So put a new one on and she runs like a champ.:D just thougt it was odd for it to cause it misfireing havent had it happen before and ive had a few vehicles with bad alternators. The fuel pump wasnt getting a constant supply of power so it cut in and out. Just in case anybody runs into any problems similar.

I've always heard of bad things about our alternators but mine is still OEM from factory. I had PS fluid and Lucas Oil additive spilled on it and she still gets 13-14v constantly.

they are just put in a bad spot and exposed to alot of road stuff such as water and salt(well salt where i live) and then right next to the exhaust which makes them hotter then they need to be so a relocation wouldnt be a bad idea.

we should have a troubleshoot section??

This has been covered many times, do a search and you will find several threads on it. The factory alt. seems to last the longest, but yes heat, antifreeze and P/S fluid kill them quickly. The added heat of a new Turbo and downpipe without a heatshield don't help. Some people relocate them to the A/C compressor location via a JAY RACING KIT.

yea we could do the search but i think there should be a spot on the forum to show what was wrong and how people fixed it. the seach in all honosty is a pain in the a** to use sometimes. Idk i would like a spot like that tho.

sorryi always pass that up its not very eye catching

This seems to be the same thing happening to my car. Funny thing is that I stumbled on this thread just by reading new posts. I'll have to go get my alternator checked out.
