I have a 98 gst with some Mods... 20g turbo, front mount, Avc-r, Safc and my fuel system bumped up to support the new turbo. I had this set up for about a year with out single problem. Last week my soleniod for the Acv-r went out so while i get the money to replace the soleniod i installed a manual boost controller. The problem is that the car started to back fire.and the engine loses power. I have the boost set to 15psi and on 2nd gear at 4500 to 5000 it will back fire and 3rd gear 5000 to 5500 wil do the same. The fuel meter shows im running rich and i check and recheck the conections on the manual boost controller. Also with the ACV_R I was consently running the car at 18-19 psi...but now 15psi is given me trouble..
Please help..:dsm:

I think you should do a boost leak test and report back. When your solenoid failed did you overboost?possibly creating a new boost leak?
