I need to replace my driver side axel because the outer cv joint shattered....I want to go down to Pick 'N' Pull (local junkyard) and pull an axle myself.

Is my axle going to have to come off a 92-awd-turbo-M/T? or how specific are these axles?

i have a late 92 w/4bolt rear

Unfortunately yes you will have to be pretty specific about which vehicle you take it from. It will have to come off of a Manual Trans AWD, but i think any year from 90-94 should all be the same for AWDs.

if your car has no abs brakes than it wont matter, you should go to chekers/autozone and take your used one that way they can see if the one they are selling you is the same :talon:

And if you go to the autoparts store print that page and take it, they should be able to give u the same price as online.

my cv joint just shattered too and I was speaking to somebody at kragen and there's a difference between a manual and auto axle, abs or non abs, awd or fwd too. I don't know if it's true but it seemed like he knew what he was talking about. Did you guys name your car? Mines Kimber...:sneaky:

I know this thread is old but can you use 1g FWD A./T axles on 1g FWD M/T cars?

If you can does 6-bolt vs 7-bolt make a difference?

Please answer only if 100% sure. Thanks

all FWD Axles are the same on 1G's Auto, manual, 6 bolt, 7 bolt, doesn't matter. they all are the same.

That helps tremendously because I still never felt close to certain about that until you just posted this now. So I'm def going to hang onto my a/t fwd axels for my m/t fwd car :thumb:
