Awd traction - RWD won't push as FWD does

WHOA!! Slow down!! You're running in too many directions. It sounds like your VC or the center diff aren't working properly. If you drove the car at all then your rear end and your X-fer case are probably OK. A Transfer Case can't "slip", it either works fine or it's damaged. It is all gears and bearings, nothing CAN slip.

Who rebuilt the tranny? Are they a DSM shop that knows what they're doing or someone else. (There's only two kinds!) The worn splines on the Xfer case splines are pointing to center diff problems. You can't replace the center diff without removing and opening up the tranny. You can replace the VC with the tranny in the car.

Some things to check:
Does the rear end spin freely with the driveshaft removed? If yes, it's probably OK.
Does the Xfer case spin freely by hand after you've removed it? If yes, it's probably OK.
Are the splines in the tranny output shaft worn down? If yes, it points to a center diff problem. If no, then it might just be the VC is worn out.

Do a methodical check of each component involved to determine where the problem is. Don't just jump from one thing to the next without checking things out.

About the welded diff...

you would think that it would all allow the inside tires and the outside tires to turn at different speeds becaus the front and rear are not locked.. just the center is...??
The welded center diff locks the front and rear shafts together but you're right, you still have a rear LSD that should allow one side to turn free of the other and it does, to a point.

The rear has viscous LSD that requires a certain amount of torque to cause it to differentiate. If it takes LESS torque to break the tire loose then the tire will "skip". My '91 GSX with Welded Diff (75,000+ miles) and street tires chirps on slow sharp turns. Slap on my sticky track tires and no tire slip at all. Why? Because it takes more torque to skip the tire than it does to differentiate the LSD. That's also why it only does this at slow speeds and not while highway driving.

Okay, i have a few questions for you.

1. did you put in the proper axles when you put in the LSD rear?
2. The transmission that you bought, would it happen to be out of a galant gsx?
3. Have you checked the Viscous coupler yet?4pistons

1. Yes
2. Maybe. But I did notice that he had a galant vr-4 in his garage I didn't notice if it had a tranny on it or not. IS IT BAD ?????
3. I havent have the time, tools and BALLS to open the tranny. (not too much experience) OMG

I didn't rebuild the tranny. It was an used one. Yes the t-case was worn out. But the shaft of the tranny is in good condition. OMG How hard is to remplace the VC from the tranny. Can I Swap out the one out of my other car to this one? Even thought it has differents T-case splines.........

I check everything else and looks fine. I think it is the VC or Center differential.

I might do this anyway:
Put back the worn out T-case (old one) and drive like before with no RWD power. I don't care about that tranny anymore.!
Whenever I have a chance rebuild the old tranny that had a 2 gear grinding noise. and swap it back. What do u think I can make it without damaging the rear end?

OMG I am getting tired of this DRIVETRAIN problem!!!!!

THANKS A LOT GUY!!!!!

If the splines are worn and they fail you won't go anywhere. With an open center diff you'll just sit-n-spin.

It's relatively easy. You do have a shop manual don't you??? No sane person would attempt DSM work without one! You need to remove the end cover on the tranny and then remove the clip that holds th VC and then pry it off. You can do it with the tranny still in the car.
