WHOA!! Slow down!! You're running in too many directions. It sounds like your VC or the center diff aren't working properly. If you drove the car at all then your rear end and your X-fer case are probably OK. A Transfer Case can't "slip", it either works fine or it's damaged. It is all gears and bearings, nothing CAN slip.
Who rebuilt the tranny? Are they a DSM shop that knows what they're doing or someone else. (There's only two kinds!) The worn splines on the Xfer case splines are pointing to center diff problems. You can't replace the center diff without removing and opening up the tranny. You can replace the VC with the tranny in the car.
Some things to check:
Does the rear end spin freely with the driveshaft removed? If yes, it's probably OK.
Does the Xfer case spin freely by hand after you've removed it? If yes, it's probably OK.
Are the splines in the tranny output shaft worn down? If yes, it points to a center diff problem. If no, then it might just be the VC is worn out.
Do a methodical check of each component involved to determine where the problem is. Don't just jump from one thing to the next without checking things out.
