ok I'm a fwd guy thats swapping a n/t engine into a awd shell with a 90" awd tranny and 22 spline tcase and doing the n/t to turbo swap. But Not having experience with AWD trannies I'm unsure if this is ok or bad. but my question is should a tcase output shaft be able to just be pulled in and out with absolutely no resistance?
Tran serial # KW5M332NPZS JU8058
If anyone can answer my question or post a link I can get it from that would be sweet. Sorry for the repeat thread guys, tried looking for what i needed for the last hour already and got sick of looking. :( I'd rather be working on my DSM.

There's a ballbearing that goes onto the ridged, "towards the passenger side" side of the output shaft that holds it inplace once the viscus coupler is put into place. Otherwise it'll be able to be pulled out and leak fluid

On your bottom pic, I think I can see the ball in its hole. Should be one on the opposite side. But in order to see it, you must pull off the first, front cover of the trans and remove the viscus coupler which is on the shaft. Go to vfaq.com in the trans/ Trans rebuild section and you'll see what I'm talking about

Or just Google dsm viscus coupler retaining ball :). Enjoy!

first pic is the clutch slave cylinder. as far as i know the output shaft should not do that. If you look for the manuel for the trans it should have something showing how its held in

Yupp, one time I left mine out by accident and as I poured in my Trans fluid, it poured right out. Went to see why and my shaft came right out!
