Some guy wants to trade for my prelude. But he hasn't moved it in 5 years? Is it good or should I pass? He says he did a recent tune up with receipts. its automatic but at this point, I don't care :p.
 
Id do it. Then again, Im a huge Talon fan.
Worst case, if it ran and drove you could trade it for my GST vert, LOL
Whats the mileage on it? Original 7bolt?
 
Need a lot more info to know if its a good deal or not. What condition is your prelude in and how much do you have done to it? Is the talon driveable or how much work would it need to get there? Whats the mileage of each car and how would you rate each on iterior, exterior, and mechanical? Overall the talon is going to be a much better investment than a prelude but thats just my opinion.
 
I would weigh the pros and cons of each car and find out what car of either two is the best platform to meet your goals and take iin consideration how much you want to invest
 
My spyder sat for only 2 years outside before I bought it and so far I've replaced damn near everything except the motor. It fired right up and I could drive it but the car was falling apart everywhere else. It's solid now though thousands of dollars later. Same thing with my wife's minivan. It only needed a motor so I replaced it and after 2 years of not being driven I ended up having to replace almost everything imaginable. I'd love to see a DSM get revived but dang 5 years is a long time. Especially if it was parked out in the weather I'd just offer him a little bit of cash and go from there.

IF the prelude is your daily driver i wouldn't even consider trading it. That sounds like am awful idea to me. You have no idea what condition the engine and transmission are in. There are too many things that could go wrong here. If you have another daily driver than i would maybe consider it as long as the car is in real good shape.
 
Well what model prelude do you have?? I used to have a 95 original vtec model with an aem v2 intake, DC headers and a tenabe hyper medallion catback exhaust. It was lowered on Volk Rays TE-37's. It was a pretty fun nice car. I traded it for a 97 GSX and the turbo bug bit me! In the end I really regretted it because of the reliability of my prelude. The GSX was only driven for like a month before it crank walked then I just sold it.
 
My car sat for half its life LOL. Poured marvel mystery oil in the cylinders and it fired up LOL. i am restoring it and upgrading as i go. something I've always wanted to do. have my own baby/project that i built. it had the crank pulley separate shortly after i got it home after having the new clutch put in and fixed the thermostat. it got me hooked as soon as i drove it LOL. all of the 20 minutes until the crank pulley separated. Im ordering a new one along with a complete timing kit, and carrier bearing. some other little tlc stuff. changed the oil, new filter setup. etc.
Just know what you are getting into. just remember you dont have to buy the first one you see.if its a good price for what it is go for it.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE AND THE ACCOMPLISHMENT. THAT IS WHAT MAKES IT WORTH IT.

so if you do get it grab some buds and beers and dig in...enjoy it.
