RAINY STATE,
Washington
Ok this is a pretty Newbie question however i have done a lot of searches for this and i just have some questions that i still need answered.
here is some background first on the situation.
i am the owner of a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GS. i am looking into replacing my suspension due to a blown rear shock and i have found an opportunity to purchase a set of KYB AGX struts and Skunk 2 adjustable coilovers from a 1995 Eagle Talon Tsi. i have read that the Eagle Talon Tsi and the Eclipse GSX are mechanically the same, i have also read that regardless of what model (GSX, GS, GST) that front struts are the same. So i have no issues with the fronts.
my questions.
I have seen people state that AWD struts are recommended for Spyders due to the heavier weight in the rear because of the top. is this true?
I have also seen people state that the only difference between the rear struts of the AWD and the FWD are that there is a stiffer dampening weight because of the heavier back end and some of the mounting points are a little higher. is this true?
are there any issues or walkthroughs installing the AWD rear struts on the Spyder?
any and all help would be greatly appreciated.. thanks in advance
