Newmarket,
I have 1997 eagle talon TSI AWD, does it carry stuts or shocks? or a combo of both? I know it;s shocks, but lately some idiots at Partsource have told me I have struts in the front. I already ordered my tokico shocks, set of 4.

Someone please let me know.

Shocks and Struts are the same thing, its just shocks is kinda a less than professional term for them

well that is what i thought. but this guy at part source told me it is not, and that I do not have shocks, and I have to get struts.. i was like wtf? i am not a mechanic, so i got very confused.. anyhow, thanks a lot. cleared it right up.

Q: What is the difference between shock absorbers and struts?

A. Struts and shocks are very similar in function, but very different in design. The job of both is to control excessive spring motion; however, struts are also a structural component of the suspension. Struts can take the place of two or three conventional suspension components and are often used as a pivot point for steering and to adjust the position of the wheels for alignment purposes.
