ok i got 2 ?z i was told that a red top cyclone motor *evo 4 or 5* from what i was told is a straight bolt to my 95 eagle talon and all i should have to change is the flywheel? is this true?

also how hard is it to swap few to AWD......is it worth it?

Evo 4-5 motors will not fit in your car at all. They are rotated 180 degrees. You can pick up a Galant VR-4 motor or an Evo III motor that will swap into your car. The Cyclone motor is not an evo motor and that is a common MISCONCEPTION. Evo motors did not have a cylcone mani.... Evo III motors came with 510cc yellow top injectors, a true MHI 16G and 9.0:1 c/r pistons. Evos have a titanium valve cover thats a distinguishing aspect.


As far as the AWD swap goes.... Its not hard but unless you have a cheap parts car its probably, with the time invested, not worth it.

DO some research here on the forums and you can get all the info for your answers. This place is a good resource and there are some very knowledgable individuals on here that are more then willing to help with an "INTELLIGENT" problem.
 
ok....well i was told the red top clone motor came with a 16g and 550injectors.......im tryn to find a motor for a good price with a 16g and bigger injectors then my stock motor that blew on me.... i found a red top for 1650 but if it doesnt ahve the 16g i dont want it.......
 
You can get galant motors that come with 16G turbos... Just not the evo316g... Im pretty sure that the only motor that came with larger injectors was the evo motor. The rest of the motors have the 450cc/min injectors you will find in your everyday turbo DSM (aside from the 390cc/min auto trans injectors).

Why dont you just go with a 6 bolt and buy what you want to put on the car and put it on?

Besides this way it will have 0 miles and you know where/what its been through.

no its a 95 talon TSI......its got the 4g63...the motor blewo n me so i want a new one...i was told the cyclone motors come with 16g and 550 injectors that why i was wondering...i just need a motor with a 16g low miles and bigger injectors and will fit my 2g *i want a 1g motor* so all ill ahve to get is the fly wheel to put it in..... yes i do sound dumb but i new... so an evo 4 motor wont fit??

No, Evo II and III's came with 16g's and 510cc injectors.

O and like No Skills said, if you have to ask how hard a awd swap is don't do it yourself.
 
i wasnt planing to do it my self my firend and would probly do it *his dad ownes a local shop* so he knows how to do it. i just want to know what all does it involve myself....so what would be a good swap with a bigger turbo and injectros at 2000 $ MAX with lowmiles
 
haha...you guys dont get it..... MY MOTOR IN MY TALON BLEW ON ME!!!!!! NO COMPRESSION IN MY 1ST CYLINDER WALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! meaning i need a new motor...so if i buy one with miled preformance shit with lowmiles WHAT SHOULD I GET thats below 2000
 
Just cause the motor "blew" doesn't mean you can't rebuild it. Is there a huge hole in the block or something?
 
yes....my mechnic said if the rings went out there should have been very little pressure but notisable but went he did the test it blew right threw and he said *his guess* theres a quarter size hole in the wall.........i didnt do it the kid that had it b4 me ran to much boost for the octane and fuel pump...maily the octane. reson i know this is because preimum is made to not preignite but reg. will..... well when we pulled the spark plugs out the L shape at the bottom was completely gone as in rong octane...so yeah.... even if my mechnic isnt right im not ####ing with the motor...its a peice of shit and wouldnt be worth it.....
 
Ok heres the deal. The Cyclone engine is a JDM 6 bolt. most 4G63 Motors typically go from $900 to $1400 including manifolds and turbo. Most will be 89-91 GVR-4 motors with a TDO5-14B turbo. You have a 20% chance of getting 91-93 motor with a 16G turbo. You have a 5% chance of getting a 91-93 RS version motor with the yellow bodied 510cc injectors and a Big 16G. It is very hard to tell for sure exactly what motor you will be getting. The best way to try to ascertain which it might be is to ask them to look at the turbo and the color of the injectors. (Info from roadraceengineering.com) But what its saying is that the likelyhood of you finding one of the RS version motor with the big 16G and 510 injectors is very slim. So you should buy a good low mileage 6bolt and be done with it. Don't try to go out and find a RS version motor cause you will just waste your time. Now if you happen to get lucky and get one then good for you. Also a 6bolt won't just drop right in. Also a higher octane doesn't mean that it won't preignite, it means that it will compress and detonate later. That means it will detonate when the piston is closer to the top of the combustion chamber. Regular octane can't be compressed that far which will make it detonate earlier.

First of all, if you want help, dont yell. Second I bought my 6 bolt from Japan Direct. I receved the motor, wiring harness, and computer for 1600. After that, I bought 550cc injectors and a Safc2 for another 250. I don't have a 16g, but I have decent mods.

Your right, since his car is turbo then it should be easier! LOL My point is it can be done and has been done, and no its still not practicle but hell what is now days?
