:dsm: :dsm: few questions for the people that now alot about eclipse 95-99 and avengers. can you take a avenger front clip and put it on a eclipse RS?

my girlfriend wreck her car and need to now this please give me a good answer. thanks :dsm: :dsm:

I think you are going to need some fabrication. Im almost positive that is not a direct fitment.

I remember reading somewhere (probably on this site) that the front bumper cover (if that's what you mean by clip) fits 2Gs but you need the fenders from an avenger to complete the conversion. I'm not 100% sure though, try this Avenger site - http://aseclub.net/forums/

Had a buddy that went the other way a few years ago. (avenger with eclipse front)
I thought it went right on?

the fenders are the same but the hood, nose and lights are different.
hope this helps and good luck!

i'm an auto body man and yes it goes right one when i order front ends for jobs i have at work it does not matter which dsm front end they it does not matter which one they bring they all work just make sure there the same year tho

thanks that helps alot. i thought it would but had to make sure before spending money and be in a big mess than already am.

I have a 1997 GSX, just curious what exactly from a 95 Avenger in the front end is compatible
Would the rad/ rad cradle be the same? The fans look the exact same minus them being in the reverse order.
How about all the front bumper supports? All the way, minus the front cover.
Most importantly, how about the passenger floor around the front door pillar?

I just don’t want to be buying parts they don’t take back and find out there useless.

I can tell you exactly what will need to be done, having put an Eclipse front clip on and Avenger.

Fenders are direct bolt on and match body sculpture. Hood is a direct bolt on, where you run into problems is the core support tie bar and headlamp mounting sheet metal area. An Avenger extends 2" longer(toward the front, not widthwise) core support wise. The headlamp mounting holes are different and will not match up. If you need some detailed pictures showing the differences let me know and I will gladly postem up.

1996 Avenger X 4g63 awd project with Eclipse front end conversion.

Yes, Dodge Avenger front Body Panels will direct fit! You don't have to weld in the front clip. Thats just dumb. Just get the front fenders, bumper, hood and headlights and your golden! Turns a 2g into a really strange looking DSM but at the same time, Awesome looking. I used to have a 99 Dodge Avenger, Miss that puppy.

IROCavenger, it would be nice if you did. Just in case anyone else. Not exactly saying to take your car apart. But if you have photos, maybe you should do a Tech Article about it in detail.

As I am NOT a fan of body kits, I actually go KKK Over cars with Body Kits

But since your one of our only candidates to help out, it would be helpful.

I really wanted to do a 99 Dodge Avenger Front End on a 2GB DSM.

that doesnt look as bad as i thought it would.

so from what is mentioned, you need to make new brackets to bolt the headlights on?

x2 on the pics showing how you mounted the headlights IRO.

ah there are always people trying sooo hard to be different. I can guarantee the first chum that did this was broke and wanted to "mod" his car then somebody else saw it and thought they'd try it. Its one of those fads that I dont think will ever catch on. It looks funky and elongated upfront IMO.

There are about 30 Dodge Avengers at the local yard with good front ends. I could do the front end swap for the cost of my weekend! Possibly even with the same color to since there is soo much variety!

I am personally almost totally against any modifications that are non-functional aside from tint and good looking rims. But I honestly think that this one is so cleanly done and so good looking that I honestly would consider the swap myself, should the opportunity present itself. Whoever owns that car did a fantastic job and I think that, if properly debadged, it would throw off a good amount of people, and it IS OEM, so it looks like it belongs for the most part.

I agree. I mean I do some bling to, like HID's and aftermarket headlights and vht tails, LOL. But it is hot. If you actually look at that blue car, its a RS! No Side Skirts! And has some hideous fender flares. IF one of the TRUE dsm guys got into it, Took a AWD2G, did the Avenger Front end, slammed it on some 17x9" wheels with stretched rubber, 2ga Talon Side Skirts, 2gb Talon Wing or wingless for that extra flare, Debadged Eclipse Tails with 2gB Eclipse Rear Bumper. And did some kinda rear diffuser... This would look hot! Kinda like one of those Z3 Hatchbacks.

And no fender flares.

I now remember, I joined DSMTuners.com when I was looking up stuff for my old Dodge Avenger. I ended up selling it and buying a 95 GSX. Wow, I remember those days. Just graduated High School and was going to college for graphics design and web design.

I'd do it if I had a running 2g LOL.

Now you guys can figure out what can be done. I'm still against body kits, But I have to admit, that Viper front bumper would prob look hella hot with a huge FMIC Behind it.

Im pretty sure that something in the core support has to be modded a little bit to make the headlights fit. And am also sure that there are some slight differences in the fenders, I remember alot of the guys saying how once in awhile they got eclipse fenders shipped instead of the avenger/sebring's. Im not to sure about it as a whole project. I do know that the radiator fits fine in the core. The only problem I had with my swap was that the avenger front is about 1.5-2" longer then a dsm. On a side not those tc2 fronts for the avenger look really good with a fmic, Ill rumage around aseclub.net and see what I can come up with

personally, if i liked that style i would just get an avenger... just my 2cents though.

Its a completely different style than an Avenger! Avenger will only hold a 420A or V6. Unless you got money to do a 4g63 swap, or evo swap or build the V6 or whatever. Dodge Avenger is a 2DR Coupe, Eclipse/Talon is a 2DR Hatchback.
