anyone here actually painted there dash/trim with automotive paint and put an automotive finish on it? i think that it would look nice as hell to have the interior match the exterior paint exactly..maybe paint the speaker grills a diffrent color...anyways, just curious if it can be done and how it would hold up

It will work fine as long as you get the right primers, prep the dash properly and add a flex agent to the paint. This has been done by mini truck guys for years just make sure to tell the guy at the paint supply store what you are doing and ask for his recomendations on what to get.

I have trim pieces painted with the same paint I used on the ext of my car. That shit holds up so ####ing good. I have an 85 lb dog with some ####in claws and he walks all over my center console and not even his 4 foot leeps into the car can scratch anything. ####in incredible dude. Its hard and you cant rub that stuff off and it wont get sticky. I wish I knew it would hold up as good as it has, I would have sanded the texture off and made it look bassass. bad pi but here it is. been a year since it was done. I thrash my interior and still looks like a charm

Do you buy it in a can? Or do you use a sprayer? Because I was looking to find the best type of paint in a can that I can use.

appreciate the posts, i am going to have alot of downtime on my car sine everything is phukd..so im going to use the time productively on taking care of all the little stuff iw ant to do

You can use automotive paint on the plastic and you could use it if you fiberglass the dash but I'm not sure that it would adhere too well to the vinyl on the dash.

I did what you are talking about by color matching the interior and exterior of the car. Check out my post in this thread.. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=154502&page=4

If you are interested in having someone do this for you rather than do it yourself PM me and I can probably hook you up someone who could do it for a decent price.

that looks very impressive, i decided to just go for a stock black apearance...i bought some interior vinyl paint and sonme vinyl primer....stuff was pretty expensive at 13 a can! I am going to test it on one of the cover panesl on the side of the dash to see if it has the desired effect
