autometer boost gauge broke?

Last night i disconnected my boost gauge to rewire some new gauges in. As I put my boost gauge back, I noticed the needle wasnt on 0, it was on the vaccum side. When I put the boost line back, screwed it in, it was close to 15hgm. It took me a while to fiddle with the nut on the back of the gauge to get it back close to 0, but I only managed to get it between -1hgm and 0.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Yeah, that's happen to me before when I first bought an AC boost gauge. It took me awhile to realize I could adjust the needle with the nut thats connected to the input nipple. And if you can't get it exactly to 0, I would suggest letting it read a tad more then 0 (on the boost side)...better to read a small amount more boost then less of what you may be getting...just me though.

what model of autometer boost gauge are these? my autometer ultra-lite sites at approx 8 vaccum with the car off. I coulndt adjust it as you describe. dam things only 6 months old too.
