Autometer A/f gauge reading backwards?

I had my car on the dyno and the guy tuning my car said that my car is running rich but my Autometer a/f gauge says that it is running lean. Anyone else have a problem with the gauge reading backwards?

Is this a narrowband 1v gauge or a wideband 5v A/F gauge? Who was tuning your car, what were they tuning with, and whats the name of the shop doing it?

just a narrowband so i know its not going to be 100% accurate. It was a local shop, using their equipment to monitor everything while it was on the dyno. We were trying to tune with my SafcII

I ask what shop because why does it matter if your narrowband is showing lean at WOT and their wideband is displaying an accurate AFR? All that means is that your stock o2 sensor is probably bad or going bad... A good dyno shop/tuner should know that better than anyone.

Throw that narrow band away man, they are useless.

I wasn't doubting the shops readings i was just wondering if i had a faulty gauge but I'm going to guess you are right with the bad 02 sensor, thanks for the help.
