Factory trans car no swap.
I believe I have a problem with the inhibitor switch I have the following symptoms

The shifter has to be pushed up into park further to engage safety switch to start. It doesn't not engage the switch unless it is pushed.
No gears fwd or reverse gears.

The shifter Seems to work fine. Is there a way to bypass the switch? Are there any other possible causes?

Have you recently messed with the shift cable/neutral safety switch?

The trans came out of car and car was apart for a long time.
The shifter cable was detached from trans and left in car the selector on trans came off.
So possibly

Also installed a trans lab shift kit at this time. Filled with 7-8qts of diaqueen ATF to include what was put in the TC. The dipstick reads fine.
