Auto Tranny Limits?

What are HP limits for stock auto transmission for 2G DSM 97'???
I've heard that about 300hP it will blow and after 250 it is normal to upgrade it.
If yes tell me more about the upgrade please

Gotta think back but then again i also had a first gen....It wont necessarily blow, but it will start to slip and not shift and such. I think once over 275whp you'll need a shift kit, end clutches, and a new valve body (then again not 100% sure) someone wanna clue him in?

generally a shift kit, end clutches, and a high stall torque convertor.

dsm autos are pretty stout as they are. nothing like the ford autos(especially the 4r70w) ive seen that can barely handle stock output.

even my buddies auto GSX held up to brake boost launches, a evo16g@20psi and still shifted as crisp as day one through all gears.

though id say the power level that limits them is comparable to how well theyre treated and maintained. as in, dont abuse it daily and make sure its doing good internally and staying cool, and it should hold up fine to 90% of the auto drivers goals.

Shift kit, end clutches and manual valve are the normal upgrades without having to pull the trans.
