I have been practicing my auto launches but there seems to be a problem. I can only rev to 2500 rpms while brake boosting. I floor the gas and brakes but it won't go past 2500 rpms. I think i read a while ago that this has something to do with the torque converter but i couldn't find it again. I see other people rev to 3500 stock. I would like to be able to build boost off the line so i need to be able to rev higher. Any ideas? Thanks.

3500 seems little high for a stock torque converter best thing to do is buy a performance torque converter and install that, also what turbo are you running? stock?

4200+rpm on the stock converter for me too. If you can only make it to 2500 with a 16g then something is wrong with the setup or mechanical parts. The engine needs to see boost at 2500rpm in order to start climbing rpm..exhust/boost leaks would be the first thing to check for as they will keep the turbo from coming in at low rpm.

Ok so exhaust/boost leaks would cause that. That's good to know. I have both :) I have the things to fix the exhaust leak so that'll be done next week and i'm working on the boost leaks today. I'm just glad it isn't my converter.

Is there a stall difference between 1g and 2g converters?

Definitely easy to get 4k+. You need to be able to build boost like nate said, so fix those leaks and you should be golden.
