ok im a super noob on mods and upgrades, help me out as this is my first project and first car i ever get to drive LOL
so i got a dsm 95 automatic GST FWD

so anyways my car tranny got burned alot of times
now its fixed and car is moving all fine
i got an evo1 turbo installed , with all its pipes etc
but i got stock fuel syestem , im running low on boost until i upgrade my fuel syestem
but ym question is , with all that power , will my transmission hold on to all of that power????
my friend told me i should upgrade the following : bigger oil trans cooler + shift kit + end clutch upgrade
do i need to do these following to avoid breaking my trans again ?
or can a dsm trans hold all of that power? please help out.

Aleelloo, how good does the car shift currently? If it shifts good, wait on the shift kit. Make sure it has a good clean filter and drive it. My TCU (transmission computer) went out and no replacements available so I had to go with a NEW, standalone unit, the ShiftBox 100.1. It gives line pressure control and has soft shift modes and sport mode where it uses full line pressure. My trans is stock and it hits very firm now. It was a bit pricey but it does everything the stock TCU did and so much more. Its like Link for an auto trans and I love it. I am still programming shift points but it makes the shifts nice and crisp. If your trans shifts fine, it would be up to you if you want to firm it up more and the Translab 175 will do that for you.
my transmissionblew up i changed it to a new transmission ( dont know its current mileage etc) anyways it shifts great , new oil , drove it on highway etc its great , JUST one time i put it on R while i was prked it didnt shift , nthn happend, then put it on P thenR it worked, nothn else happend other than that car shifts great bro , im thinking of getting the translab shift thing , it actually sounds fun , and good upgrade for my car , also while upgrading the shiftkit i ordered full set of engine and trans mountings cuz mines are broken , also my mechanic told me i have a bracket thats broken , is the bracket fixable ? or shld i buy a new one ? i didnt find on ebay so thought i could fix it by anyway?

I will be doing a review of the ShiftBox 100.1 soon so others see how it works if there TCU craps out. I decided on it over a 25 yr old leaky capacitor computer.
Just keep watching for my review coming soon on it.
if i can ask bro , where can i watch ur reviews etc?

bro , how can i make sure it has a good filter?

Just drop the oil pan and put a brand new one in. Cheap insurance that you will have the best pressure you can get. I am using WIX.

Those are just a couple videos as I start playing with it. Much more to come on this fantastic unit. It works on multiple transmissions including GM 4L60 and 4L80E transmissions. :)
Enjoy the rest of my video's while you're there :sneaky:

It is a complete modern replacement TCU setup made by ForcedFour. That is the ShiftBox 100.1 Each one is made by hand and I've had positive setup support from the company (thanks Shawn).
You wire it into the transmission wiring and can use it or your original trans computer with the flip of a switch also but I'm taking my old TCU out. This is about 1/4 the size of the old metal box and you use a laptop to setup peramiters that you want like shift rpm's or mph as an example. Really cool and I'm just getting started. It shifts VERY positive! I felt good enuf to show it off at a car show this weekend.

anyways what about the translab shift kit? wht do u think of it? and how does it actually work? (what i know is from a button u can shift gears ???? ( how would it benefit me or whatsoever ) ??? answer the new noob dsmer hehehee

You have the shift KIT and a shift BOX turned around. The shift kit works great, I put one in my sons 97 TSI AWD and it hits great if you are using a factory setup on the transmission computer. You will be required to remove the valvebody from inside the trans oil pan and completely disassemble it and put new springs and check balls in place of steel units and drill a few holes to enlarge in the separator plate. You can tell I've done it a time or two. The SHIFTBOX is the manual shifter that uses a handheld box with up/down shift buttons on it and a gear dusplay. The unit I have is full blown but they sell other units, check them out if thats your thing and want to manually shift it. I THINK it is still switchable back to auto from your factory TCU. See ForcedFour.com

Both things will reduce in between shift slip on the clutch packs but in different ways.

and for the shift kit , is it hard to install ? from what i read u said i shld remove and dissemble stuf etc

im thinking of going for the shiftbox from forcedfour.com !!!! il try reading on the site about it and how it works etc, if i didnt get enough info il come back to u

Sure man. Glad to enlighten you. If you need to PM me go ahead. I will have a separate article on the ForcedFour ShiftBox 100.1 for all to read.
The Shift KIT is more for a mechanic minded person. I have installed shift kits since I was 16 LOL so they are not that complicated you just gotta get dirty and pay attention to what you are doing. It takes longer than installing a shift box I can definately say.
