Ok, sorry if this is here, I couldn't find much searching.

I have a 93 N/T Eclipse 5 speed with a hole in the block. I have a 92 Eagle Talon 2.0 automatic with a bad tranny. I want to put the Eclipse tranny in the Talon, will it fit?

I can't remember this whole 7bolt/6bolt thing.

Please help and I sincerely apologize if this has been posted a million times by others. Since the Eclipse has a busted head, could i still use the rest of the bottom end and put it in the Talon if the trannys won't swap?

Thanks for any help you guys can offer me, it's most appreciated!

Please help, I don't know why I said part of my last post. The tranny bolts to the block, so that was a dumb question, but does anyone have any advice?

I'm begging!

Ok lets try this.
What model tranny is in the 93 and what model in the 92 ?
Its on the DSM plate on the back of your engine compartment.
And no I don't have your answer off the top of my head but maybe we can figure this out, I have a bunch of service manuals and info on these things.

Oh man, you're a stud, LOL. Anyways, the numbers on the Eclipse are:
KF5M222VPZV
QA3408

The Talon has
KF4A222MPD1
KM8306

Thank you so much for replying, I thought I was gonna be hopeless and have to find out by trial and error, and I'm sure it would've ended up in error. Thanks for any help you can provide me with!

After the 5spd out of my Eclipse rolled out from under the car on a skateboard... I've come to the conclusion that it's a 7bolt. I'm not a complete moron about cars, but when it comes to the drivetrain... I am. The bolts on the flywheel show if it's 6 or 7 right? Now I just need to know on the Talon. Someone please help me, I don't want to get it apart to find out I need a whole new tranny.

This is what you need to do... Take the flywheel off the eclipse, take it to the parts store as a core and get a six bolt flywheel (try to slip it past)If you nhave a parts plus nearby It costs 31.00 there w/core. The clutches are identical. You will need to cut a hole in the firewall for the shifter cables and the clutch master cylinder. Swapping pedals is the biggest bi*** of the job. there is a faq on this.(vfaq.com) Also there is a pilot bushing on the crank of the auto car, it comes out with those 'z' shaped little screwdrivers that come with craftsman tool sets. Manual trans cars don't use pilot bushings (go figure?) I hope this helps. If you have any more ? E-mail me ([email protected])
