those arent gen 3

first off, the turn signal is some chromdillio whereas gen3 have it like stock

in addition Both High And Low on gen3 have the glass projector.

Gen3 isnt recessed like that.

I emailed the company and asked what kind they said Gen.3. The box as you can see in one of those pics says Gen.3. :p

sorry, was in a bit of a rush earlier.

i been lookin at projectors too and saw these on ebay. looks like the same ones lejeune123 got.

upon closer inspection, these look like single projectors, single halo.
lejeune123: can you post pics of the lights when u get em installed? i'm especially interested in what the turn signal would look like with the light on

how much do those APC dual glass projectors run anyway?

its like this,

You buy a kia that says porsche on it, its a porshe in kia-land.

But it aint a "APC Gen3 headlight" such as the ones that the pics are shown earlier in post.

i want the Real apc Gen3 but i ordered a diff set, that i still havent arrived.

^^^those are the ones i got. as far as i know, the low beams have the round lens thingy, making them all projector like, but the highs are just regular but also look like projectors from a distance.

they all use H3 bulbs, and come with connectors to connect to youre stock wiring, but if you want to use the stock wiring, you will have to somehow rip it out of youre stock headlight units. i used a different method and connected the stock headlight harness to both the high and low, and it works fine.

i like them alot, theyre more black then the stock ones. they look real good and pruduce alot of light, but are aimed perfect as to not piss off oncoming traffic.

heres my cardomain page if you want to check it out.

Thanks for the info and the pics of the new halos. I have mine on the way, can't wait to see how they look up close and personal. :)

The wiring harness on the Gen3 or not Gen3 that I got hooks straight into the stock wiring but the catch is you have to get it out. hehe ;) Junkyard for cracked headlights then a swinging 2x4. Got the harness out now I just gotta wait until my car gets out the shop.(power steering) :thumbdown About the side marker light I was worried about that too at night but oh well. I am going to put the chrome coverd bulbs in so the cops don't say anything day or night.

Ummm, I couldn't find any pictures of your car on cardomain with the new headlights?

For reference for other potential buyers...

I bought the ones you linked to above and I sent them back. I did not like them because:

1. They are not APC Gen 3's they are cheap knockoff Gen 3's.
2. The build quality was extremely low. Very plasticy, and cheap looking up close.
3. The wiring harness required a lot of splice and dice (not a big deal)
4. The headlight had a blue tint and was not SAE / DOT approved despite what many online eBay retailers (X3 Racing) say on the add. I do not want blue because blue light refracts in the fog which is when I need light the most.

Regarding the open turn signal, the Sylvania makes colored turn signal bulbs (blue, silver, etc) that emit amber light when lit. I was going to use the blue ones.

I am going to put real projectors inside my stock housings.

This is a link to my site on Cardomain http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/386321/4 If you don't see them on this page just try another I know they are on one but my computer won't load the pics.

Hey guyz I got Gen.3 :thumb: and they came off of EBAY. Check out this page.
THe only problem I have with these is the wiring on the back. The stock headlights only have one hook, up these have two and I have to wire the halo into the corner light. WHo cares these are going to look bada$$. They only cost me 220.78 shipped to my house.

Wire them into the parking lights. The parking lights are in the same bulb as your turn signal. There are three wires. Ground, Power for the turn signal, and power for the parking light. On my 2G (1998 GSX) I think the power for the parking light is a green/white wire. I just looked it up in the wiring diagram in a Chilton's manual. Splice the red wire into the parking light, and the black (or white) wire into the ground wire (black).

I soldered mine. In order to do this, I had bring a small table up right next to the car. I then pulled the wires out onto the table. Put a cardboard shield between the table and the paint on the car to prevent any flaming solder balls from singing my paint, headlights, etc. Soldered in the halo, plugged everything in, hooked the batter back up, and ran a test.

rinse and repeat.

I installed the angel eyes and they work fine...but now the drivers side angel eye ..does not work when my light goes on...it only works when i turn on the sidemarkers/turn signals....can any1 tell me wats wrong?

The RadioShack Butane Solderring iron works good, and is quite portable. (Cat: 64-2188) Plus, it has the flame adapter so you can heat shrink all those solder connections.
