I installed my Jeep TB recently. I used the Jim Metal instructions and also ported out the "bevel" in the TB. The install went fairly smooth (a couple of intake leaks and accidently popping a spark plug wire off). I have match ported the intake. I want to fine tune it a little. My idle is up to around 1100 or so. I would like to drop that down to about 800-900 Also I notice that my idle, when coming to a stop, stays up to around 1600. It takes about seven seconds before it drops back down to 1100 (with clutch in). I want to play with the plunger in the IAC butI am relatively new to the computer car, so I want to get opinions/advice first. Any takers?

Oh yea, she flows really well now. Great response and added power (in comparison) right thu to 7k

Thanks in advance,
MB

yeah i had the same trouble when i did that mod.first my problem was that the throtle wasn't returning to the full closed position, hence the 1600 and after it finished closing dropping down to 1100 rpm or so.i put a throtle return spring but i never found a strong enough one to return well, but it got better and my chek engine wold turn off sometimes since it idled lower. i changed the iac motor but no cigar,it basicly fixed itself  and then it would act up and turn on the mil light again.my iac motor was fine so don't spend 70 bucks from the jeep dealer for a new iac, check if the throtle is returning all the way back.Im sorry i don't have a more complete engine but i just sold my car    .no problem next up gs-t :thumb:

It looks like you did alittle bit different hybrid process than I did. I re-used half of the old return spring and I re-used the old IAC (just switched plungers). I can see the throttle not returning being a problem but I am very happy with my closure. I set my adjusting screw to just at the point of full throttle closure and I get no intial stickiness when I hit the accelerator (though I am going to come up with a better spring. I don't like the feel of the pedal. Too weak). As for the AIC, b/c I switched the plunger, I am suspicious of the depth. I want to change it a little to see if that will affect the idle speed but maintain the power and response.

Interesting that you should mention that it "fixed itself." I am finding that the idle is getting just a litle bit lower as I drive the car. These computer cars have me a little confused. I also noticed that the idle on stopping acts like this; As I come to a stop (with clutch in after already downshifting to second) the idle stays around 1600. But as soon as I come to a complete stop it drops right down to just under 1100. Do these freakin' cars allow for movement on the idle in their computers?

I appreciate your input,
