I searched but really couldnt find a lot, i wanna start looking at puttin down around 300hp. am i gonna have to beef up the auto at all, if so what should i be lookin at. i just changed the fluid and it shifts smooth right now so im hoping all is well.

Thanks guys:D

you should definitly do the shift kit and end clutch upgrade, and if you have the money get a high stall torque converter.:thumb:

Thanks man ill start lookin around to see what i can hook up.:thumb: :talon: :dsm: :laser:

I agree, a shift kit and an end clutch kit are pretty much the first things that should be done to DSM transmissions that are to be used for performance applications.

After that, the next step in optimizing the performance of an automatic equipped vehicle would be to install a better torque converter.

I agree with John. Right now my automatic tranny is stock. i just put down 264 whp. No slipping. I will let you guys know how much power i end up making as a refrence point. But for long lasting, do those 2 basic mods. shift kit and overdrive clutch

Well, what is SERIOUS power. I mean 300 whp (more to the crank because of the TC) comes pretty close to double the output from stock, and that is a fairly easy number to achieve with a 16g trim turbo. I think the correct thing to say is a proper torque converter is key no matter what. The way I understand a restalled converter, is that it is either hit or miss with the stall speed. A custom converter is a guaranteed number.

I understand exactly what you're saying and I agree. All I'm saying is that guys have run 10's on the stock TC, so it's not like you NEED an aftermarket or restalled OEM TC in order to make good power and run good numbers.
