At how many psi is the stock 2gen turbo set at?

How many psi should the turbo be running on a completly stock 2gen dsm? I tried the search already but it didn't help much.

The boost gauge is reading 15psi........but the car is completly stock. WTF

did you buy this car used, im guessing you did... if so, the orignial owner probably did something to it, ie bcs free mod, or (im guessing that the bcs free mod wouldnt get you up to 15, so its really and) something else, like home depo intake, or exaust... freeing those up makes your car run higher boost... or your wastegate might be sealed shut somehow...rust? i dunno...
 
There's no rust on the wastegate. The intake and everything alse is stock. I'm not quiet sure about the exhaust but the owner sais that he just put a muffler on the car (not a catback exhaust or downpipe).
I don't know but is it possible for the boost gauge to show incorrect data? Maybe the arrow is messed up or something.....??? I dunno.

i was just about to make a thread on this glad i found this... me too, i bought this car from some guy who i belive beat the shit out of it.. but it ran good needed a severe tune-up.. though got it done and it ran perfect he told me he gutted out the cat and ran a custom piping from the cat back.. "or so he says".. thenthe car bieng under my hands now i found out about this BCS REMOVAL.. i did it then after 2 weeks i got a boost gauge and it reads 14 pounds psi.. stock BOV too wird huh :dsm:
 
no not really, if he has a custom catback exaust with no main cat, and you did the bcs removal, that makes complete sense.... the bcs removal got me about 3psi, and removing the cat should give you the extra 1... and also stock is 10-11, so seeing 3psi over that after doing the bcs removal is no surprise, at all, in any way...
 
good so this is somwhat normal.. now why is it that i see 15psi gst running mis 13s and i am in the mid 14s??? does this have to do with other mods including that dont include BOOST? and plus i am running 14 psi exactly and not really any signs of it dropping at WOT.. and i have my stock BOV?? i thought they ony held about stock psi..also for evry pound u gain of boost approximatly how much hp u gain?? or are there to many variables to establish that??? thanks alot!

The the denser the air the more power you will make. Higher turbo and intercooler effiencies will gain you more power. Stock the smic and the t25 are too small for power but the turbo spools quick. Replace your BOV and UIP ASAP. Execellent mod.

With a t25 I'd say ever psi is roughly 8-10 HP, but that's just a guess. I highly doubt it's any higher then that.

Watch your boost drop off around 6000 rpms to redline. That's when it will drop fast.
