So I have a 90' tsi and have been having trouble finding a suitable 6 bolt short block replacement. My question is this....Is it even worth my time to throw on a 4g64 short block? What kind of problems might i have (mechanicaly) while running a 2.4l?

Obviously you won't be able to rev it like the 2.0. I'm not 100% sure but think the internals may be made diffrent and have a bight compression ratio so it won't handle as much boost. Hose would be my two biggest concerns

Well, they are 6-bolts I believe. They have as good a chance as ANY motor crankwalking. They can all do it.

I suspect the eating trannies is due to the higher torque, but you would need to get up in the HP range to see that happen

From what I've seen, the 4g64 engine is a 7 bolt. The g4cs is a 2.4 6 bolt.
