asking a question for my friend with a honda

im selling my 4g63 engine out of my talon to get a 4g63t i have a friend who has a 91 honda civic and wants to know if it would be a possible or easy swap to put the 4g63 into his civic. and if it would be worth it. becase i told him i would sell him the engine cheap.

Why does he want to do it? I mean, it probably can be done, but WHY? It would cost so much that he should either put the money into his honduh or buy a DSM.

Yes it can be done. and it has been done with a 4g63t. I'll post the link when i find it. i forget what year the civic was but i know it was a hatchback

It's been done several times, in a CRX, a 93 hatch and a 97 EX that I have personally seen. It's not expensive, don't know where people are getting that, but it is going to require you do a lot of fabrication. In the CRX all that needed to be done was some mounts, in the hatch and EX it too some creative solutions to make it fit.

Also, is it just me or does the turbo in the last video not have an intake pipe on it or at least a filter on it?

If it was me personally I would leave the Civic stock to go about my day and build a monster DSM on the side. You can put a 4G in it, you can make it fast, but you can't make it as sexy and cool looking as a DSM.

Glad to see it done...I love when people put mixed brand motors in Hondas. And solely because it's funny to watch people pull their hair out over it haha. Nothing beats a die hard anti-Honda fan's reaction when he sees his prized motor in a hatchback or crx. Leaves me smiling every time.

The only vids of 4g63 Hondas I've ever seen have not said anything about being AWD unless they show that they have AWD.

And in the last vid there is no intake on the turbo.

your friend could easily just put an integra ls motor in his civic and turbo that with the same results and alot less headache.

If it isn't normally street driven it isn't uncommon to run with no filter. Walk through the pits at your local drag strip and you will see a lot of cars running just screens or wire mesh on their turbos instead of a filter.

i would recommend he do a k series swap k20 or k24 i think that would be much cheaper and the car would still the 2 liter or 2.4 engine in it.
