Well guys i am flying in to Michigan to look at this 98 awd talon tomorrow evening. I have been talking to this owner for about two weeks now and decided to go up there and check it out. The carfax checked out good and it is a one owner car. He said he replaced the timing belt and balance shaft belt at 63,000 miles and in 2003. The car now has 72,000 miles on it, so its obvious he has not driven it very much. I offered and talk to him about the price and got it lowered. If everthing checks out i will be driving it down here saturday morning. Please pray for me and the car and safe jorney without problems.

I am in love with that car, but that price? Jesus. I'd never pay that for -any- DSM. Hopefully you talked him way down, what with the investment of a few hundred for flying and then for driving.

Yeah my dad is going to fly with me. I paid the flight ticket to convince him to go with me. It is one way ticket, so if the car check out questionable we are driving back home in a rental car. Yeah the price he has listed is high, but for one owner and adult driven i am willing to pay close to that. it has 4 new tires, transmission oil changed, and 02 sensor is replaced.

I am just worry about that timing belt and balance sheft belt tho. It has 10,000 miles on the new belt but its been 9 years since.

Get those spyders and part them out, I sure could use that split gas tank, its really the only thing im lacking.

Shit I'd sell you my talon if you are going to be paying that much . Bone stock when I got it, just maintenance and clutch upgrades so far.

Thanks, the car dose need tlc underneath (rear). Luckily, the owner when he bought it in 1998 he coated the car with paint and body protectant on top and on bottom so the rust don't get to it too much. But, still it needs tlc to remove the rust areas.

For the other car, i bought a Fel-pro composite gasket and timing belt to replace the metal gasket and the old timing belt it had on. The only thing i am missing now is the special timing tools and ill be good to go. I also bought an HY35 and planning to run it on the gsx. That will all have to wait until i find some time.

Right now i am just focusing on detailing the talon.
