Are Cordia parts compatible with the 1.8L

I have been reading a little about the 1.8L Turbo Cordia and was wondering if anyone knows if the parts are compatible with the 1.8L Eclipse. From what I've seen it looks like the Cordia's last year was 89 and in 90 the Eclipse was introduced and both seem to have a 1.8L motor it's just the Cordia had a turbo option. Any answers would be great. Thanks in advance.

I don't think so. The Cordia used an G62B engine, whereas the 1.8L DSM uses a 4G37. They're quite a bit different. If you're looking for turbo parts for your 1.8L, it's not an easy proposition, but its been done - the manifold for a early 90s ('93?) Dodge Colt turbo will bolt up to the 4G37 - but then you're still left with the mess of trying to put together intercooler & exhaust routing & piping.

I looked into a little and the '94 Colt came with a 1.8L Turbo. Now, how much of that is compatible? Just the manifold or can the whole setup be made to work with a little bit of MacGyver engineering? I know others have made a turbo setups for the 1.8, but I can't get to them now.

it was the 84-86 and pre 87 that the maniflds came off of, it had the 1.6l turbo in it. you could take it from the mits. mirage and colt.

Ok...that's really good info...thanks. Now will the Monza cats fit that header? Sorry if that's a dumb question but I was just given a '91 Eclipse with the 1.8L and am still figuring things out. I learned a lot doing the engine change but still have many q's. Thanks for the help.

How about the heads? Will they swap over also?? Probably not...but still curious.
