Are all 5-speed tranny the same from 91-94

Hey im about to do a five speed swap my car is a 1992 TSI FWD auto are all the 5-speed trannies the same from 1991-1994 i have a 6 bolt motor do i have to get a 5-speed that was on a 6 bolt or it doesnt matter because with auto trannies there are so many differences between the years any help would be appreciated.

1gA 90-91 have a 3 bolt and 1gB 92-94 have a 4bolt

I thought that the 3 or 4 bolts had to do with the rear ends not the trannies?

Im talking about FWD not AWD just the trannies themselves are they all the same like will a tranny from a 91 bolt up to my motor or a 94 tranny etc .
