when i come back from basic training i plan on buying a gsx. when i get it i want it to be able to breathe as freely as possible so i think i'm going to go with the apex'i GT exhaust and downpipe. what o2(s) will fit nicely?

well I dont run the gt but I run the n1 exhaust and well to be truthful I would look into an ebay one that could be had for probably half the price. I still kick myself in the ass for not going that route. I will say though that I really like the sound of my exhaust and am overall happy with it. I had the stock o2 hooked to if for awhile and a punishment racing one and both worked fine. Very easy to install and nice fitment.

yeah i have the 3 inch system but it does bottle neck in quite a few places now lower than 2 i doubt it but probably 2.5 in some sections. Its still a nice exhaust but not near worth the price what so ever. I was dumb and it was my first mod. Should of went ebay but oh well.

I have a full Apexi exhaust on my car, N1 downpipe and N1 catback. The only spot that mine is 2.5 inches is straight off the o2 housing. Maybe they changed the design, because mine is full 3 inches all the way to the muffler with no reductions.

yeah that is the part I was talking about. There might be a few spots by the resinators that it might taper down a bit to 2.5 but I would def look into ebay. I hear alot of good things on hear about megan racing making some good exhaust systems. Try searching I am sure you will find a bunch about them on here.

im not sure how much you like HKS but they make amazing exhaust systems. I am running the carbon ti on mine with the stock o2 and it runs great. and the sound is amazing. you can find it on ebay also. go to youtube.com and you can hear and see them all there. good luck!

Most downpipes neck down to a 2.5" at the O2. Still, it's enough to support ~400hp, so make sure you know what your goals are. In addition, stock O2 housing is tiny, smaller than 2.5" (though I don't remember exactly) so having a full 3" isn't always the best route. In the end, a downpipe is just a pipe, so go for price, not name brand. If you choose Megan Racing, it will fit a stock O2 and any of the Punishment 2.5" O2 housings.

I run a S.S. Tubular O2 housing & a 2 1/2"inch Borla downpipe & a OBX 2 1/2"inch cat,& a SR*S 3"inch S.S. cat-back exhaust & It sound's great & It still look's good even after being on my car for over 2 years.

People think I'm joking. If you have an N1 exhaust you have neckdowns to ~2", period. Wiseman tested and proven.

Those are just a few examples. The numbers I've seen vary from 1.86" to 2.2", all of which are smaller than a stock diameter exhaust. Not raining on any parades, just trying to be clear about what the N1 is and what it is not.

I went with the HKS and had the cut it to make it full 3' from the resivor, with a custom down pipe and ported evo3 3' o2, you will not be able to find a true 3inch full exhaust system without some modifications.. but HKS sound so nasty! :thumb:

Where? The only bottleneck in my entire Apex'i system is directly coming off of the O2 housing.

Did you read any of the links?
The offending sections are the resonators themselves. They neckdown to ~2". People have cut them apart to find the horrors within. There is light, however, people have successfully cut out the resonators and had real 3" parts welded up to make the N1 a true 3" setup.

...If so there are a couple different styles of resonators. The ones that come in "pre-packaged" exhaust systems such as the Apexi N1 will be very restrictive as they neck down to around 2" internally.
The N1 is great (I have it too), but just keep in mind it's not a true 3" exhaust.
+1 on the eBay exhaust. Plenty of people on here have had good luck with them - there's a thread recommending some specifically. Just so you know up front, the Apexi N1 isn't a true 3" exhaust. I have one though, and it's top notch.

Anyways, this is getting a little off topic.
